How to compile and install the old version of extundelete

To compile and install this program, you must first install the binary and development packages for e2fsprogs and e2fslibs. You must have g++ and GNU make to compile the program. For ext4 support, ensure you have e2fsprogs version 1.41 or newer (which may be found by running the command 'dumpe2fs' and noting the version it outputs).

To compile the program, simply enter the command “make” from the “src” directory of this package. The command will generate an executable file called “extundelete”. That executable could be copied to a directory on your path, or it could be run from the “src” directory as is.
